G.O.O.D Music’s “Cruel Summer” Comes in at #2

It’s been a week since G.O.O.D Music’s Cruel Summer has dropped, and their first week numbers have officially come in. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Kanye’s team sold 205,000, landing them in the number 2 spot behind Pink on the Billboard 200 chart.

However, on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, the crew enters at No. 1! And according to Rapup, this is Pink’s first number 1, selling 280,000 copies of The Truth About Love.

Nas’ “Life is Good” is #1 in the Country

Nas is no stranger to reaching the number one spot, but it feels good when Life is Good. He met expectations and sold 149,000 copies of his 10th album and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. He tweeted:

“#LifeisGood is the #1 album in the country!!!”

Chris Brown Reaches the Number 1 Spot

Chris Breezy scored the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with his album, Fortune — moving 134,000 units. This is his 5th album, and second to reach the #1 debut spot, following his F.A.M.E album that sold 270,000 copies.

Around the world, Brown also scored: Ireland and France at No. 4, Japan at No. 5, Canada at No. 6, Switzerland at No. 10, and Germany at No. 13.

Otis Maybach sold for 60k

Remember the Maybach that was stripped in Jay and ‘Ye’s Otis video? It was originally worth $350k, was expected to be auctioned off at $100k, but was sold for $60k – in 5 minutes. *Otis scream*

Portions of the sale of the non-functioning car will go towards the Save The Children cause.

Kid Cudi is #3 in the country and Whitney Houston takes over the charts

Kid Cudi is quickly sliding past numbers as he moved 66k copies of his rock album WZRD during it’s first week of release, and landed beautifully at the number 3 spot on the Billboard 200. Cudi didn’t even expect it to do this well. In fact, he tweeted:

“Not too bad. Not too bad at all. No major promo, no single on the radio, no music video. Just the music. All for the music. That’s really special.”

Whitney Houston joins him and nine other of her albums, with 3 of them in the top 10. Adele, of course, is living comfortably with her feet up as she lays at the number 1 spot for the 23rd week with a drink in her hand. 5 x platinum. GEEZ!
