About Nicky

“A well seasoned soul” is probably one of the best ways to describe Nicky. Influenced by her Mother’s rhythmic salsa, her Father’s passionate oldies, her brother’s West Coast Hip Hop and her friend’s Pop fanaticism – Geezy fell in love with music and all it’s artistry.

While majoring in Communications at Pasadena City College, Nicky decided to focus her energy on Music’s tandem – the Radio industry. Beginning her radio career working on Movin 93.9‘s street team, she quickly moved up and at the age of 19 earned the title “Assistant Event Coordinator.” Around the same time, she landed her first on-air radio show on Hot Hits 97.7 KRCK in Palm Desert, CA. Being no stranger to hard work, Nicky would commute to the Desert Area every Saturday, and return to Movin 93.9 in Los Angeles by Monday.

Fast forward a couple years, Nicky grew along with Mando Fresko‘s ratings as Producer on Power 106‘s highly successful Saturday Night Show.

In mid 2009, Nicky was approached by Big Boy’s Neighborhood to fill-in for Luscious Liz on their nationally syndicated morning show, while she was on vacation. She happily obliged and proceeded to cover Liz’s “This Just Handed to Me” entertainment segment and was thrilled when asked to return for more.

Nicky now works full-time for Big Boy’s Neighborhood as Big Boy’s Network Coordinator and his Social Media Assistant. After seeing a positive response on her witty and humorous blog posts on RadioBigBoy.com about Hip Hop and R&B culture, she decided to hone her original passion and begin her own site: NickyGeezy.com, where Music is Life.

In March of 2012, Sway of MTV and Shade 45’s popular morning show, #SwayInTheMorning approached Nicky to help build his new site: SwaysUniverse.com. After one month of working with Sway, his website numbers grew up to 300% and his Facebook page got a facelift. With the artistry of music in mind, she blogs using forward-thinking, class and maintains the integrity of the site at #1.
